An escapee from the Pine Hill Youth Facility near Desboro has been caught.
Saugeen Shores Police — on routine patrol on Monday — came across a mini-van being driven aggressively on the Port Elgin Beach.
Police discovered two teens inside the vehicle that was reported stolen from the Chesley area.
One of them, a 14 year old, was reported missing from the Pine Hill Youth facility.
As we reported earlier this month — the youth had walked away from the facility July 7th and headed for Chesley.
Executive Director of the Facility, Trevor Cunningham says Pine Hill is an ‘open custody’ facility where staff can’t lock anyone in their rooms.
But he says very few of the kids take off.
Bayshore Broadcasting News incorrectly reported the youth had escaped from the facility a second time.
But in fact, he had only escaped once.
