Huron Kinloss Council is reacting to reports of an accidental gunshot at a local campground.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says the municipal office has received a couple of phone calls about a stray bullet making its way into Green Acres Campground on the 12th Concession of Huron, just south of Kincardine.
He says the municipal clerk has notified the OPP and the matter will fall into the hands of their arms control branch.
Twolan says apparently a lady was sitting in a chair recently at a campsite and heard the sound of bullet passing by.
The Nimrod Gun Club is located near the campground, but it isn’t clear if it is the source of the shot.
Twolan says council wants to have a face-to-face meeting with the OPP, the Nimrod Club, and Green Acres Campground to get the situation sorted out.
