A fire has destroyed a home in Walkerton.
An alert volunteer firefighter spotted smoke coming from a home on McNab Street just before 1 PM Sunday and called for help.
The Walkerton and Mildmay Carrick Fire departments responded to the scene.
No one was home at the time of the blaze.
No word on the dollar value of damage — but Police say the home was heavily damaged and may not be salvageable.
South Bruce OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshall are investigating the cause.
Anyone with information that might assist is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
