
Our region has another death related to COVID-19.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says this is the fourth death.
A man in his 80’s from Orillia has died at the Orillia hospital. The health unit says he was in close contact with someone who had Coronavirus.
The number of confirmed cases in Simcoe Muskoka is now up to 44 with six recovered and eight people hospitalized.
The new cases range in age from 20’s to 70’s.
They include two cases from New Tecumseth, one in Springwater Township, one in Oro-Medonte, one in Barrie, two people in Orillia, three in Gravenhurst and two in Huntsville.
The health unit says the total number of cases in Muskoka is now six.
Health officials also confirm that a second employee at a Tim Horton’s in Alliston has tested positive for COVID-19. They are both in self-isolation.
