Kincardine Council has sent proposed changes for the municipal taxi by-law back to the drawing board.
Councillor Kenneth Craig questions a plan to limit the age of tax cabs to 10 years and to require cab owners to have safety checks done on the vehicles twice a year.
Councillor Gordon Campbell says once a year is enough and operators shouldn’t be subject to extra financial pressure.
He questions if any other municipalities require cab owners to have safety checks done every six months.
The by-law has been sent back to the Police Services Board for more more discussion before it goes before council again for approval.
