Bruce Power, already part of the Toronto Blue Jays organization, is expanding its sports connections.
Bruce Power spokesperson Steve Cannon says they will be the electricty supplier for the Air Canada Centre and the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.
Cannon says they will be powering the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Marlies in the coming 2009-10 seasons.
Cannon says Air Canada Centre is undergoing extensive renovations as it strives to be an environmentally friendly building.
He says they were looking for an electricity supplier that provides their product in ways that doesn’t contribute to greenhouse gases and Bruce Power fit into that program.
Because of the partnership, Bruce Power can now call themselves an official sponsor of the Air Canada Centre and the Ricoh Coliseum and the major tenants in those buildings.
The first taste of that sponsorship comes this Saturday at the annual Bruce Beach party in Kincardine.
Cannon says the Toronto Maple Leafs “Leafs Nation” mobile fan zone is going to be part of the picnic.
He says the display is an exact replica of the Toronto Maple Leafs dressing room.
