Like the Mounties, the Bruce Grey Owen Sound Federal Liberals have got, not their man, but their candidate.
Southgate resident Kimberley Love will be acclaimed the Liberal Candidate when local Grits meet next Tuesday in Owen Sound.
Riding Association President John Close says Ms. Love is a mother of four and is this generations owner of the Love home farm in Proton, where her family has been based for more than a century.
Close says Love is the ideal candidate for the Liberals as she is well aware of both the urban and rural issues facing the people of Grey Bruce Owen Sound.
He says she will be a worthy opponent for incumbent Conservative MP Larry Miller.
Close says during the last election, the Liberals put themselves behind the 8 ball by waiting until the writ was dropped before picking a candidate.
He says this time they are ahead of the game and Ms. Love is already making her presence known throughout the riding.
Close says he is not sure of what to make of rumours that Green Party Leader Elizabeth May may run for election in this riding because of the strong showing the party made in both the Provincial and Federal elections.
He says they are not really concerned what impact her presence in a campaign would have.
Close says their priority is to put forward an effective campaign and show the people of Grey Bruce Owen Sound that the Liberal party is alive and well in this riding.
The Acclamation Meeting will be held Tuesday, July 14th at 7 PM at the Owen Sound Legion Hall.
