In this time of economic slow down — Hanover is experiencing some happy growing pains.
Construction is about to begin on the Whaling Subdivision on the south end of town beside Hanover’s Business Park.
Of the 65 dwellings, 23 of them will be semi detached homes.
The remaining 42 dwellings will be single detached homes.
This subdivision is unique in the fact that the 23 semi detached homes will offer a exterior maintenance service agreement.
Chief Building Official Don Tedford likens it to a condo situation.
He says there will be ownership of the property but services like grass cutting and snow removal will be provided as part of the service maintenance agreement.
Tedford expects this to appeal to the senior population and snowbirds.
He says Hanover doesn’t have anything like this right now.
Currently these type of exterior maintenance service agreements only exist in rental situations.
