An Owen Sound shelter is looking for help from Grey County.
Pastor Randy Kennedy of Victorious Living Centre addressed Council Tuesday to discuss the possibility of establishing some kind of partnership.
Kennedy says that has been the desire of the Centre since they opened up in 2007 but is not sure what is standing in their way.
He says they are looking for financial assistance but they also want to develop a professional relationship that shows that both parties are working together and not against each other.
He says they have had one meeting with the County but have been turned away at other meetings and none of their phones calls to the County have been returned.
Kennedy points out that there has been situations where people who are down on their luck are getting money from the County that is supposed to help them turn their lives around but it ends up in the wrong hands.
He says they want to come up with ways to prevent that from happening and at the same time help get them out of that lifestyle.
He says there needs to be some clarity and is hoping that he will get it.
Kennedy says despite the lack of communication it wont change the way they operate or the fact that people need help.
He says their only regret is that they can do so much more with proper funding.
Kennedy says he feels optimistic about his chances after coming out of the Council meeting.
