Four students from Owen Sound, Hanover and Flesherton have won Canada Millenium Scholarship awards.
The excellence awards recognize University and College bound students for their achievements in leadership, innovation, academics and community service.
Darienne Lancaster of Hanover and Anna James from Flesherton have won National Scholarships — and will each receive 25 thousand dollars.
Lancaster was honoured for her work with the Stephen Lewis Foundation to raise money for the AIDS crisis in Africa.
James was recognized for starting the Humanitarian Club at Grey Highlands Secondary, which raised money for needy children in Tanzania and AIDS in Africa.
Jocelyn Boley of Owen Sound won a Provincial Scholarship and 20 thousand dollars for helping to raise money for cancer research.
Jordan Fry of Hanover won a Local Scholarship and 45 hundred dollars for his volunteer work at local drama and arts camps.
