The deadline is fast approaching to carry the Olympic torch in Owen Sound.
The Olympic Torch Run will be coming through Bruce and Grey Counties and includes an overnight stop in Owen Sound on Monday December 28th.
The Media Chair in Owen Sound John Prettie says celebrating Canada Day and celebrating the pending Olympic Games are very similar in nature.
The highlight of the Owen Sound leg of the Torch Run will be the carrying of the torch by a selected local participant.
Prettie reminds anyone interested in carrying the torch, the final deadline to register through the Royal Bank is July 15th.
Applicants must be 13 years of age or older by December 28th of this year.
