Thursdays throughout the summer — are set aside for Traditional Feasts at Saugeen First Nation.
Spokesperson Priscilla Yellowheadtobey cooks a traditional dinner over an open fire for up to 20 people each Thursday.
Yellowheadtobey says it consists of whitefish, plated with potatoes sauteed with wild leeks, corn and oven baked Indian bread; dinner is followed by dessert and cedar tea flavoured with wild ginger syrup.
Following dinner, Yellowheadtobey tells traditional and non traditional stories around the fire.
It runs from 5:30 – 7:00 PM each Thursday now through the middle of August.
Reservations should be made the day before.
