Hanover is the place to be this Canada Day.
The town is celebrating our nations birthday at Heritage Square from 11:30 AM to 3 PM (if it’s raining — it’s at the Hanover legion).
Organizer Sherri Walden calls it a great day of community spirit and family fun.
She encourages everyone to sport their red and white and come out and join in the festivities.
The celebration includes a Childrens Carnival, a Hospital Foundation BBQ, birthday cupcakes, a pie caf, a scavenger hunt and a Canada Day craft table.
There will also be a magic show, and performances by the Hanover Happy twirlers, Walkerton Illusions and the Golden Tiger School of Kung Fu.
Old favourites like the Red Rascal Band will also be performing along with some new acts including the award winning Yodelling Cow Girl Naomi Bristow.
There will also be a toonie swim at the Regional Aquatic Centre from 3 PM until 4:30 PM.
Walden says Hanovers Canada Day celebrations are always a family favourite.
She says its a great way to spend the day without spending very much money.
