Saugeen Shores residents and vacationers may remember all the work going on as the town had piping put into Lake Huron for raw water intake purposes.
There was a lot of noise 24/7 and at times it left the bathing areas murky.
Well McNally Construction has to return in early July to complete some minor deficiencies in the work that couldn’t be done before their work permit ran out October 31st.
Saugeen Shores Director of Engineering Services David Burnside says this time, the work will be short and non-intrusive.
Burnside says you’ll see some activity out of Southampton Harbour early this week as they prepare for the work.
He says McNally’s will begin the actual work between July 2nd and July 10th and will last only a couple of days.
Burnside says the company has to dump some additional rock in the lake around the piping and then it’s over.
Meanwhile Burnside says the dune restoration project at the foot of Bay Street in Southampton will start in late October when the native dune grasses are dormant.
He says the town will handle that project.
Some of the grasses had to be removed during last years pipeline work.
