A group of local students are embarking on a busy summer.
Thirteen of them have been selected to take part in an entrepreneurship program running their own businesses for the summer.
Today marks the official launch of ‘Summer Company’ in Owen Sound.
The students will begin their orientation and training sessions under the guidance of the Owen Sound and Saugeen Shores Enterprise Centres.
The students will also receive start up costs for their business of up to 15 hundred dollars and a 15 hundred dollar ‘back to school reward’ at the end of the summer.
Summer Company is a program initiated through the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and will support over 600 students in the creation of self employment opportunities.
