Canada’s best-known environmentalist is now involved in the battle over Site 41, the landfill under construction north of Elmvale.
David Suzuki has written a letter to the Premier Dalton McGuinty, asking that the province step in to halt construction of the dump.
Suzuki says his foundation supports the call to use alternative means of dealing with waste other than land-filling it wherever possible.
Suzuki directly asks McGuinty and his government to halt any further construction on the landfill and focus on developing and implementing reasonable alternatives to dealing with waste.
