Once again, Bayshore Broadcasting News has won an award at the Radio television News Director Association annual meeting in Toronto.
Actually, Bayshore received two awards this year in connection with our coverage of the story about MPP Bill Murdoch being ousted from the Conservative party.
Bayshore Broadcasting News broke the story about the Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP being suspended by his own party last summer.
Murdoch told John Tory he needed to find another job, since he wasn’t holding a seat in the Ontario legislature.
At the RTNDA meeting this weekend — Bayshore Broadcasting News won an award for the “Best Newscast Small Market” category for the Central Region and also won the National Award in the same category.
When the local MPP was suspended, the caucus chair of the Tory party said Murdoch had been distancing himself from the party for quite some time.
Last September, Murdoch wouldn’t back down and sat as an independent in the legislature.
