The South Bruce Grey Health Centre board has a new Chair.
Dan Geiruszak has already served on the board for six years and now takes over as Chair.
Geiruszak says a strong board with diverse skills and experience has been established, and he wants to concentrate on implementing the strategic plan and allow for more community involvement with the process.
Geiruszak says there is limited funding and an unlimited demand for hospital services, and the South Bruce Grey Health Centre has to provide better services with a “flat” level of funding.
He says working “smarter” is needed to achieve that.
Geiruszak says he has the understanding of health care it takes to do the job.
He says in his day-to-day activities as a consultant, he’s worked with hospitals and medical equipment companies over the past 15 years, and understands the challenges hospitals face.
Geiruszak replaces John Haggarty as board chair.
Geiruszak also serves as a municipal Councillor in Brockton.
