The idea of one OPP agreement for all of Grey County is on the back burner.
The OPP currently has 5 separate agreements with Grey Highlands, Georgian Bluffs, Chatsworth, Meaford and Southgate for policing.
Grey Highlands Mayor Brian Mullin says cost is a factor, and some contracts expire in different years.
Mullin says for now, Grey Highlands has an agreement to take effect next January 1st, 2010.
However, Mullin says they may try to reach an agreement that mirrors the end date for the other municipalities so they can then bargain next time for one overall package.
The Grey Highlands Mayor hopes 1 single agreement reached at some point in the future, will result in cost savings.
Under the present contract, Grey Highlands pays nearly 1.4 million dollars for OPP policing.
