Some emergency work will be done at the Huron Terrace Bridge in Kincardine.
Work is underway to replace the bridge at the Kincardine harbour.
Public Works Manager Jim ORourke says there is a problem with a drainage pipe that could cause an environmental dilemma.
He says the 12-inch pipe could rupture due to the nearby construction activity resulting in raw sewage being dumped out.
ORourke says he has instructed the contractor to put in a new pipe placed away from the construction activity.
He says it is a pipe that will be needed in the future anyway and the situation gave them the opportunity to put one in.
ORourke says the new pipe would cost 70 thousand dollars on top of the 3.4 million they are paying to replace the bridge.
He says the Municipality has a cost sharing agreement with Bruce County but there are still details to be worked out as to how the costs would be split.
