The Conservative MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound is going to reserve judgement on the future of Natural Resources Minister Lisa Raitt.
Larry Miller admits it has been a rough week for the Minister — who he calls “a very bright cabinet minister.”
The latest scandal centres around allegations Raitt expressed doubt about the Health Minister in a tape recording.
It was allegedly left in a Parliament Hill washroom by her aide — the same aide who resigned last week after leaving documents at a TV studio.
Miller told the CFOS Open Line this morning he knows the aide, Jasmine MacDonnell, and was shocked by the news.
Miller says he always thought she was a very capable aide.
Miller says it’s not a problem in the Conservative party.
In fact — Miller says he is very confident in his own aide and staff.
Miller doesn’t know what will happen with Raitt.
Miller admits no one should make disparaging comments about their colleagues on Parliament Hill.
He notes very smart people have lost their jobs because of errors in judgement.
