The Hanover sky will be buzzing with planes today as the Saugeen Municipal Airport plays host to the 2nd annual Interprovincial Air Tour.
Over 50 planes, 1 helicopter and 100 pilots are participating.
Hanover is the last stop on the three day tour that encompassed 500 miles of rugged Quebec and Ontario northern wilderness.
Pilots from across the region and even the boarder are participating including some from as far away as Michigan, Quebec, Sudbury and Toronto.
Spokesperson Phil Englishman says the air tour will provide great local economic spin offs as well as exposure for the Saugeen Municipal Airport.
He says this is especially important in light of the struggles many small municipal airports are having to remain open.
He says this air tour is just another example of how the Saugeen Municipal Airport continues to reinvent itself.
Local industries as well as Grey and Bruce County representatives will be on hand to welcome the pilots with a gift bag and a warm invitation to come back.
