A Senior’s Fair is being held in Owen Sound.
Co-ordinator Donna Gorrie says the Senior’s Advocacy and Awareness Network or SAAN and the United Way of Bruce Grey are hosting the event as part of Seniors Month.
Gorrie says the fair will feature over 40 exhibitors with a wide ranging focus.
She says it is important to ensure that seniors in Grey Bruce are aware of all the services, products, care, and support available to them locally.
The fair also includes four specialized seminars covering the topics of safe driving, financial planning, advance care planning, and community resources.
Gorrie says they’re hoping not only seniors come out, but also their friends, family, and caregivers.
She says about 200 people attended a similar but smaller event held by SAAN last year, and she’s hoping to double that with this event.
Admission is free — the specialized seminars are also free — and thanks to generous community supporters, there will be door prizes available.
The Senior’s Fair is being held at the Bayshore Community Centre today from 10 AM to 3 PM.
