Get ready for a cooler than normal June.
The weather forecasters say the jet stream and wet ground will conspire to keep temperatures a bit lower than normal as we head into summer.
Stats show May was actually only a fraction of a degree below normal temperatures.
The average high for the month was 18 degrees Celcius — which was normal.
Rain totalled three inches for the month — also normal for May.
But Bayshore Broadcasting Weather Specialist John Wilson tells us June will be cooler, because of all the precipitation that is in the ground from the winter.
He says it takes longer for warmth to penetrate when it’s been so wet.
June rain levels are expected to be normal.
Regular temperatures would put us at a daytime average of 25 degrees Celsius by the end of the month.
