A 17 year old Owen Sound girl has won second prize in a national contest sponsored by The Co-operators.
Amanda Redmond was presented with an iPod Nano by Mitch Dorge, the Juno award winning former drummer of the Crash Test dummies.
There was also a 500 hundred dollar cash prize to the school.
Dorge’s “In Your Face and Interactive” presentations about responsible choices are highly popular among students across Canada.
Contest entries were sought from schools across Canada .
The goal was to bring Dorges school visits and presentations full circle and perpetuate his positive messages by challenging students to express how the presentations affected them.
Hanover Heights Public School in Hanover, took third prize of 250 dollars.
A school from Milton took the top prize and each student at the three schools who submitted the winning entry also won an iPod Nano.
