Kincardine residents have their chance tomorrow to get details and share their opinions on changes at municipal landfill sites.
Deputy Mayor Laura Haight says the Ward One Landfill Site is nearing capacity and is slated to close next year.
A “passive recreational” use is planned for the property, an off-leash dog park is one of the possibilities.
Haight says the municipality wanted to have an open house when more seasonal cottagers and campers would be able to attend and review the consultant’s report.
The capacity of the Ward Two Landfill Site will be increased.
Haight says the open house will provide information on the changes that will be made to the facility.
Haight says if anyone has concerns or wishes about how the municipality manages solid waste, this is the open house to attend and to let council members know.
The open house runs from 9 AM to 12 PM today at the Kincardine Municipal Administration Centre on the 5th Concession, just west of Highway 21.
