We are into the final days of the annual Huron Fringe Birding Festival.
It runs today through Sunday — where the goal is to encourage birders and nature lovers to explore the Huron Fringe coastline of Lake Huron and the Bruce Peninsula.
Morning activities included guided hikes concentrating on not only birds, but wildflowers, butterflies and insects.
Afternoon hikes are available with workshops covering bird identification, nature photography, and other things.
There are also evening events which feature speakers, night hikes and “Owl Prowls”.
This year, the Huron Fringe Birding Festival is partnering with Ontario Nature which is holding its Annual General Meeting in Southampton.
That meeting is at 3:30 PM on Saturday at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
