It’s Community Living Month and the agency that serves people with developmental disabilities in Kincardine has been celebrating.
Several of the people the agency serves were at a recent council meeting and served homemade refreshments made by their cooking club.
Support Worker Sher Brown says they want to bring awareness of the role that Community Living Kincardine plays and to celebrate the successes of adults with developmental disabilities.
Brown says the agency serves about 80 people of all ages and provides a wide variety of programs.
Those include day and residential programs, an infant development program, and family support programs.
They have also begun a project of making homemade dog biscuits that are sold each week at Kincardine’s Monday Morning Market.
She says it all fits in with Community Living Kincardine’s goal of helping people with developmental disabilities lead fulfilling lives and be part of their community.
