Green party members are starting a search for a new leader in Ontario.
The current leader, Frank DeJong, has decided not to seek another term.
Deputy leader Shane Jolley of Owen Sound says he is not interested in the position.
Jolley says he is more interested in serving the local riding of Bruce Grey Owen Sound, and he feels you can’t do that effectively if you are leader of the party.
Back in 2006, Shane Jolley had a solid showing for the Green party in the Federal election.
He ran provincially in 2007 and also had a good showing.
Jolley says Conservative MPP Bill Murdoch is not foolish enough to take the riding for granted, but any election offers the potential for an upset.
The Ontario Green party leadership race will be held this summer, with a new leader selected by the fall.
