The BIA in Thornbury could soon be disbanded.
Over half of the Business owners apparently are NOT happy with the way the association is being run.
Owner of the “Dam Pub” in Thornbury Gord Price says he has been talking with members of the BIA after news their fee schedule was being changed.
Price says over half of the 100 business members don’t feel they are getting their money’s worth from the Association.
Up until now, the BIA was funded with a flat fee of 766 dollars per business but that is changing to a rate based on the assessed commercial property value.
Price says some restaurants will now have to pay over 37 hundred dollars.
He is collecting comments from the business owners and plans to present them to Blue Mountains council.
According to Price, if more than a third of the BIA members want the organization disbanded, it will be disolved.
