Grey County Council is making an effort to become more acquainted with Cape Croker.
There will be an official meeting on the reservation Friday.
Grey County Councillors and staff will be opening the lines of communication with Chippewa’s of Nawash Officials Friday morning.
Grey County Warden Kevin Eccles says Chief Ralph Akiwenzie extended an invitation for council to visit and tour the reservation.
Eccles says this is the first time for something like this to take place.
He says there will not be an official agenda but they will be talking about programs and problems they both face.
Eccles says the meeting will be like neighbours getting together to chat over a cup of coffee.
He says it is important for the county to get to know their First Nation’s neighbours.
Eccles says 100 per cent of council won’t be there – but the majority will be.
