Hospitals in Grey Bruce, Huron and Perth counties are getting more Provincial money to help fund infrastructure projects.
The funding is part of over 5 million dollars the Ontario government is providing to hospitals through the South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).
It will be used so hospitals can address infrastructure renewal projects that extend the life of the hospital facility and improve the hospital facility’s quality or functionality.
Projects covered by the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund include a wide range of improvements such as replacing steam boilers and emergency generators,
installing new high-efficiency air equipment for climate control, and upgrading fire safety and nurse call systems.
The Grey Bruce Health Services will receive just over 939 thousand dollars for all six of its sites, in Owen Sound, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton, Wiarton and Lion’s Head.
Hanover and District Hospital will receive more than 154 thousand dollars.
South Bruce Grey Health Centre will get more than 610 thosuand dollars for its for sites.
That includes the Kincardine, Durham, Bruce county and Chesley hospitals.
In Huron county — the Alexandra Marine and General hospital is getting 155 thousand dollars.
The Huron Perth health care alliance gets just over 150 thousand dollars each for hospitals in Clinton, Seaforth, St. Mary’s, Stratford, Listowel and Wingham hospitals.
The hospital in Exeter gets 152 thousand dollars as well.
