Stats in Huron Kinloss show a significant drop in construction so far this year.
Stats show as of March 31st — the municipality had issued 13 permits with a construction value of over 800 thousand dollars.
That compares to 21 permits and over 2.8 million dollars for the same period last year.
The fees collected from building permits is naturally down too.
It was at over 11 thousand dollars during the first three months of last year.
This year’s figure is just over 48 hundred dollars.
In March, the number of permits issued did increase to eight.
Only two were issued in February and just one was issued in January.
