A new business that specializes in larger antique items is open in Saugeen Shores.
This ‘n That Antiques and Collectibles officially opened last Friday in the former Strauser’s building on Goderich Street in Port Elgin, next to Beachin.
Co-owner Fred Schildroth and his wife Ann Marie say there are many antique shops that deal in smaller pieces such as plates and glasses but they will be dealing in bigger pieces of furniture.
Fred Schildroth, who is also a councillor for Saugeen Shores, says the business is starting out as a “mom and pop” operation.
He says if it grows they hope to hire additional staff down the road.
Schildroth says for the month of May they will open at 11 AM and stay open until 5 PM or 6 PM in the afternoon.
