RBC is showing its support for local hospitals.
The bank has committed 10 thousand dollars to the Hanover and District hospital as well as to the South Bruce Grey health Centre which supports hospitals in Durham, Incardinate, Walkerton and Chesley.
RBC will be launching the adopt-a-nurse bursary program during Nursing Week May 11th to May 17th.
The community will be invited to visit their local RBC branch to read the stories of exceptional nurses and vote for the one they feel deserves a bursary for professional development.
Sue Patterson of Hanover’s hospital says educational programs offered to nurses are a major factor in what attracts and retains nurses in local hospitals.
Patterson says rural nurses need to be multi skilled and competent in a wide range of nursing activities and the RBC bursary program will certainly help with that.
