Its Catholic Education week, and students in the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board are celebrating.
Director of Education Bruce MacPherson says the theme of this years celebration is Catholic Education: Rejoicing in Hope.
All week long students will be participating in a variety of events that highlight and reflect upon Catholic education.
Events range from raising money for the overseas missions to participating in various sporting and musical events as well as spirit days, cultural celebration day and even mountain bike racing.
The highlight of the week takes place today when author, columnist, York Catholic religion teacher and chaplain Michael Skinner shares his insight on Catholic education.
MacPherson says the week is about nurturing the mind as well as the soul.
In an age when the future of Catholic schools is called into question, MacPherson says its important students, staff and the community band together to celebrate the gift that Catholic education really is.
He says its important we never take the Catholic Education system for granted.
