The Bruce Grey Catholic School Board is hosting a special Applause Breakfast Awards ceremony.
It takes place at 7:30 AM Monday morning at the Klages Mill in Chesley.
The breakfast is being attended by the student recipients, their parents, school administration officials and school board trustees.
This is the first awards ceremony of its type for the school board.
Director of Education Bruce MacPherson says this new initiative celebrates the ‘unsung’ heroes of the school ground.
MacPherson says all to often schools recognize students for their academic or athletic ability.
But He adds now it’s time to do the same for character.
MacPherson says the recipients serve as positive role models for their fellow students.
MacPherson hopes it becomes an annual event.
