The Kids Help Phone is getting a boost this weekend in Owen Sound.
Bell will be holding its second annual walk in support of the life line for area youth.
Regional Manager Jim Newman says the phone lines are answered by trained professionals with backgrounds in social work, education, public health and child welfare.
Newman says last year alone the Kids Help Phone was called more than 2 million times across the country…and more than 10 thousand kids from this region made use of the service.
He says they’re calling about everything from bullying and peer pressure to drug abuse and suicide.
Newman says being there for the kids isn’t free and more financial support is needed.
Sunday’s walk takes place at Harrison Park in Owen Sound at 10am with registration at 9.
Last year almost 7 thousand dollars was raised in Bell’s first Walk for Kids Help Phone in the Scenic City.
