The harness racing season begins tonight at Hanover Raceway.
There are a number of celebrations taking place to mark the opening of the season.
General Manager Gord Dougan says they have been busy preparing for the season and have made some changes.
Those include a new workshop shed and expanded judges room.
The big change is still in the works as Dougan notes they have a proposal to build a new community hall at Hanover Raceway.
There are two options being considered — a two million dollar hall and a 500 seat, 12 million dollar hall.
Dougan hopes the people who use the hall — for staff parties and weddings for example — will become harness racing fans.

Dougan notes all of Hanover’s Live races will be video streamed on the internet this year through www.hanoverraceway.com
That way people can wager on Hanover’s races.
