It didn’t take long for Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch to fit back into the Progressive Conservative party.
He has been named Named Rural Affairs Critic for the party.
Murdoch sat as an independent MPP for about 6 months, after he called on the former Conservative leader, John Tory, to step aside.
At the time, Tory had no seat in the legislature.
Since that time, John Tory was defeated in a by-election and Murdoch was invited back into the Conservative party by interim leader Bob Runciman.
Bill Murdoch is said to be excited about taking on a critic portfolio again.
Murdoch says the job is very diverse.
The portfolio was previously held by Randy Hillier, a Tory MPP who is running for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.
Murdoch says as Rural Affairs Critic his job is to look at problems affecting all of rural Ontario, and make sure the government doesn’t forget those living in the country.
Murdoch will taking on the Rural Affairs Critic portfolio immediately.
