Collingwood’s Drew Wright is settling into post-Canadian idol life with his new band “Fall and Divide”.
They will be having a concert in Collingwood at the Gayety Theatre tonight and tomorrow.
Tickets are 30 and 45 dollars each, and include a five song demo CD.
Wright says his Idol connection is done, and that he wants to break away from the demographic of the idol crowd, and the stigma associated with the show.
He says the name of their band comes from lyrics in a Pink Floyd song, which are “united we stand, divided we fall.”
Wright says they are independent right now, and everything is done by the band.
He adds one of his friends is an artist, and designed the cover art for their CD.
Wright says it’s a pretty good situation for the time being, because they have full rights to all their music.
He says the chemistry was there right away with the band.
And Wright says that after the two shows in Collingwood, they are booked for lots of summer festivals, and then plan on touring after that.
