Public meetings are being held in Saugeen Shores for anyone interested in seeing improvements made to downtown Port Elgin.
Councillor Luke Charbonneau says it’s part of a larger Community Improvement Plan for the area.
He says the public meetings started late last year, and they’re now in the research and gathering information stage of the project.
Charbonneau says they’re working on aesthetic, parking, accessibility, and property standards issues.
He says it’s a comprehensive approach and no project like it has been done for downtown Port Elgin since the early 1980’s.
One meeting was held last Tuesday and another one is being held tomorrow at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers.
Charbonneau is hoping residents come out, offer their input, and learn about the Community Improvement Plan.
