We’re heading into the first full week of the Saugeen Shores Senior Games.
Games Committee Member, and town Program Coordinator Mike Hundt says about 75 seniors — aged 55 years and up — are taking part in the games this year.
A few of the fifteen activities include darts, lawn bowling, shuffle board and bridge.
Hundt says the goal of the event – is to get seniors more active – and create friendships and fellowship.
Winners will receive recognition for their accomplishments at an awards banquet.
The Meridian Senior Games Awards Gala is being held May 15th, at the Legion in Port Elgin, and tickets are available now.
There are still some spots left for certain senior games — including euchre and bridge; call the town to find out more.
The games run off and on now through May 15th — Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM til 4:30 PM at various locations throughout Saugeen Shores.
