Four candidates vying to take over as leader of the Progressive Conservative party of Ontario made a stop in Wingham.
They include Christine Elliot, Randy Hillier, Tim Hudak, and Frank Klees.
They all made their pitch to Huron-Bruce Provincial PC members at their annual meeting.
Tim Hudak says if elected party leader he will provide the type of leadership needed to address the job loss problems of rural Ontario.
Randy Hillier, who before politics was an electrician, is running on the idea and principle of representing the average person.
Frank Klees says his reputation as someone who has been building bridges with ethnic communities and voters who have never before been conservative will help him win the vote.
Christine Elliot spoke about the need for a detailed party plan with goals and a clear timeline that will get Ontario out of “have not status”.
MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Bill Murdoch wouldn’t hint at who he was throwing his support behind but did say he will let us know next week.
We will know who will replace John Tory as the next PC party leader following a vote on June 27th.
During the annual meeting, Doug Freiburger was named president of the Huron Bruce Provincial PC Riding Association.
Mark Beaven was named vice-president.
