The long hard winter followed by the spring flooding has forced Hanover to delay Phase Two of its Park Refurbishment Project.
Councillor Rick Hopkins says the Hanover park sustained a lot of damage over the winter and spring.
There are large tree limbs down all over the park, the ball diamond backstop is damaged and the roadway into the park is washed away in areas.
Hopkins says there is enough of a mess to keep staff busy cleaning for quite sometime.
Phase Two of the park revitalization project will now be delayed until Fall.
The project includes the creation of some new roads and an asphalt bike and walking track.
Despite the set back, the town will replace some of the playground equipment right away due to safety issues.
Over the next few years Hanover’s riverside park will undergo a number of changes as part of the project.
