The Bluewater District School Board has a new deal with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario.
In total — 17 deals were reached Friday for more than 22-thousand teachers across the province.
Deals for full-time and occasional teachers in 11 school boards were tentatively agreed to and details will be released following ratification votes.
The teachers’ last contract had expired last August 31st.
A deadline of Friday had been set for contract negotiations but some teachers are still waiting for news about a contract for their school board.
Overall, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario represents 73-thousand elementary public school teachers and education workers and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
