This might be the week people in the town of Collingwood get to finally fire up those backyard fireplaces.
Town council will vote tonight on a by-law that would let people have controlled backyard fires in chimineas and other devices — provided they get a yearly, 25-dollar permit.
Council will also hear from the people who want to bring Wakestock to Collingwood in August.
The festival has been held at the Toronto Island since it was asked to leave Wasaga Beach.
In 2004, hundreds of charges were laid against partiers who came to Wasaga along with the festival.
Also on the agenda at tonight’s Collingwood council meeting — a vote on which projects the town will ask for federal funding to complete.
And a decision on the design of the proposed downtown revitalization project.
