South Bruce OPP is investigating a house fire near Walkerton.
The fire occurred around 3 o’clock Monday morning on Highway 9 in Greenock Township.
Chris and Donna Weppler were asleep in the home with their two children.
The family escaped the smoke filled residence.
But Chris attempted to re-enter the residence to save family property and was treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire Departments from Walkerton, Teeswater and Mildmay attended the scene as well as Bruce County Ambulance.
The home is completely destroyed.
But the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
