The Ministry of the Environment is now giving Collingwood Ethanol a deadline to clean up the noise and emissions coming from the plant.
In an amendment to the Order issued in January, the plant has now been given until May 6th to come up with a work plan to end the odour and noise issues that have been plaguing the town for more than two years.
A week later, the plant is to provide a report on the work it’s done on the plan.
The order from the Ministry also says the plant has to have the noise-reduction equipment it’s already promised to install, in place by May 7th.
A June 30th deadline has been set for the plant to provide a report on how well the noise-reduction equipment is working.
