Residents in Owen Sound will have to wait to find out if the City will pick up their garbage every two weeks.
City Council has decided to wait until May 4th to debate a move from weekly to bi-weekly garbage collection.
The proposal was approved in principle during budget deliberations in February as a way to save almost 100 thousand dollars a year and keep taxes down.
Staff presented stats that show the amount of garbage generated in Owen Sound is down 47 per cent over the last 10 years.
But a number of residents are concerned the move will create a bad odour from garbage just sitting around.
Other fear residents will ditch their garbage in the countryside.
If approved by Council — the bi-weekly garbage collection would begin July 6th.
